Sizing and colour recommendations

I recommend that A4 or A3 are the best choices for a single subject pet portrait. For multiple pets, or large animals, I advise you to select A3 or A2. For predominantly black or white pets it is usually best to select a black and white pencil drawing, whilst for pets with multiple colours a coloured pencil portrait will bring out the best in their hues.

Feel free to enquire about custom sizes - I would be happy to work out a quote for you.

Ordering information

For a commission I will need at least one high quality, digital image of your animal. This should be sent attached to an e-mail, or alternatively can be printed and sent in the post if you are unable to scan and upload your photo. Please make sure that the photo is your own and copyright free.

Multiple photographs are preferable, as this gives more scope for me to lend advice on selecting the perfect image for a portrait. To be able to draw your portrait accurately, your photo should have good lighting and not be blurred or out of focus. Taking photographs outside on an overcast day is the best option for achieving a quality photo. The image should consist predominantly of the animal's head and shoulders, and please also make sure that your photograph depicts your pet's true colours.

After deciding on a suitable photo, size and medium, and upon receiving a 50% deposit upfront securely by transfer, I will get to work on your portrait. Turn-around time will be estimated when discussing your commission, and is usually around 2-3 weeks (allow double for larger commissions). At times there will be a waiting list - the months running up to Christmas are always very busy, so please order commissions in advance.

Once complete, the remaining balance will be invoiced.

Testimonials

'Portraits are absolutely stunning! I was very close to tears myself! All my family are very impressed :) My dad wouldn't look at them on the internet as wanted to wait for the real thing. He is hard to please but even he was bowled over. I loved them from looking at them on the Internet, but it doesn't do them justice as they are incredible in real life-you can see all the subtle marks and details that couldn't be seen on the computer screen. Once again thank you so so much for two beautiful portraits. Next stop framers, and then both my parents and I will have a treasure on our walls :) Very glad I took the time that Saturday afternoon to re-find your website :)'

'I collected Holly's portrait today and just want to say thank you for what you've done. You really have captured the real her! As soon as I get it framed, it'll be on show for all to see. You are so talented. I'm jealous!!'
